Introduction
Amidst the challenges and changes the region is witnessing, the Syrian Arab Republic is seeking to enhance investment opportunities and develop its infrastructure, particularly in the health and transport sectors. In this context, we conducted a special interview with His Excellency the President of the Syrian Arab Republic to discuss the state's plans in these two vital fields, as well as the most prominent challenges and opportunities available to local and international investors.
Syria today is moving towards economic openness and creating an attractive investment environment, with a focus on the essential sectors that directly impact citizens' lives. He clarified that the government has embarked on modernizing legislation and simplifying administrative procedures to facilitate the entry of investments, emphasizing the importance of public-private partnerships in reconstructing the country and revitalizing the economy.
The Syrian health sector has faced significant challenges due to the current circumstances; however, the state is proceeding with developing this sector by modernizing hospitals and health centers, providing modern medical equipment, and supporting medical staff with training and qualification. He also pointed to the launch of partnership projects to establish medical cities and medical research centers aimed at elevating the level of healthcare services provided to citizens.
His Excellency the President indicated that foreign investment is a fundamental pillar in developing the health sector, especially in the fields of medical technology, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and medical supplies. He affirmed that the government offers significant facilities for investors, including tax exemptions and the allocation of necessary land, in addition to guaranteeing legal protection for their investments.
